Britain: Haven for Foreign Terrorists

We sat in Nosher's shed all day, looking out of the cobwebbed window at the rain pouring down.
'We could do with a bit of rain' said Nosher around lunchtime, relaxing in his deckchair with his wellington boots resting up on a shelf adorned with old seed packets.
'The water butts need refilling' I said from the comfort of my own deckchair, my wellingtons resting on a shelf near to Nosher's old transistor radio.
The BBC one o'clock news on the trannie brought word of the release of Abu Qatada from jail, an Al Qaeda supporter and convicted terrorist on the run from the Jordanian authorities, and wanted on terrorist charges in many other countries. Now, apparently, the High Court has ruled that his detention (after entering the country illegally, jumping bail, and finally being incarcerated in Long Lartin awaiting extradition) is unlawful, so he's now living at home in London at the taxpayer's expense, although on a curfew order.
Nosher sighed as he turned the trannie off.
'Our political and legal elites are like neutered tomcats' he muttered 'full of their own self-importance, bloated from living off the fat of the land, full of PC nonsense, and they can't even find a means of getting rid of this muderous terrorist who has deliberately come here knowing this country is a haven for foreign terrorists due to our ridiculous human rights laws.'
'Have you been reading the Sun instead of the Mail?' I asked, fearing that Nosher had become one of the mindless millions of Murdoch morons.
'Of course not!' Nosher remonstrated 'the lowest I'll ever sink is the Daily Mail. But I served this country fighting terrorists in Malaya in the 50s, lost some of my best mates out there, and now we provide sanctuary to these monsters who come here having committed terrorist crimes abroad, and who openly encourage their followers to indulge in violent jihad. At the very least the law banning incitement should be invoked so this Qatada brute can be kept locked up. Britain is known the world over as a sanctuary for foreign terrorists. They know we will keep them safe from harm - and justice. And we're supposed to be leading the fight against terrorism? It's bleeding-heart liberal-left nonsense of the worst kind.'
'You may have a point' I conceded. 'Abu Qatada may claim he would be tortured in Jordan if returned there, but his political objectives are to overthrow the current Jordanian regime and replace it with an even more brutal version of Islam that would happily torture its opponents. So all we're doing is protecting Qatada from a regime that is less barbaric than he himself is. I agree, it doesn't make sense. There must come a point where the human rights of a criminal are over-ridden by the demands of justice.'
'The current situation' said Nosher 'is an insult to everyone who's ever been injured or killed by terrorists in this country and in the entire world. The Dis-United Kingdom cannot claim to be fighting terrorism whilst it provides sanctuary for foreign terrorists by abusing human rights legislation. We're actually encouraging terrorism - can't the idiots who rule over us see that?'
'No, they can't' I replied 'they're too obsessed with being Politically Correct to worry about the negative consequences of their self-righteousness.'
